How I Read

When I read a chapter in a book I usually read it straight through once while breaking it down along the way. My brain usually starts wondering while I’m reading so I have to make it a focus to pay attention and analyze what I just read. If I don’t do this, the information tends to go in one ear and not the other. This mostly happens while I’m reading a topic I am not interested in or familiar with; whereas if I’m reading about something I am interested in I tend to retain the information very well. During this reading, my mind tended to wander a good amount, which might’ve been because it was such a long chapter and I wasn’t super motivated to read.
